State Estimates: Education Stabilization Fund- CARES Act

The Congressional Research Service has provided the following memorandum of estimated federal dollars that each state will receive for education stabilization in the CARES Act. This memorandum has been prepared in response to Congressional interest in estimated grant allocations under the Education Stabilization Fund (ESF), which is included in the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act (H.R. 748), as signed by the President.1 More specifically, the ESF is composed of (1) a Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Fund, (2) an Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund, and (3) a Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, based on an overall appropriations level of $30.750 billion.
