Senate and House Name Education Committee Members


The 2020 session of the Virginia General Assembly is in its first full week of committee meetings and floor debate. Both the House of Delegates and Senate of Virginia have named members of their respective education committees. VSBA’s lobbyists will be present the entire session of the General Assembly representing the legislative priorities and positions of school boards across the Commonwealth.

The Senate of Virginia has named both the full Senate Education and Health Committee, as well as its Subcommittee on Public Education. Below you will find members of these committees with links to their membership profile on the Virginia Assembly website.

The House Committee on Education will operate with three subcommittees this session: Post-Secondary and Higher Education, Pre-K-12, and the SOL/SOQ. At the present time, subcommittee chairs and members have not been released. We anticipate the subcommittee appointments to be provided to the public this week and will report back to you once the announcement is made by the Chair of the House Committee on Education.
